Solid Bamboo Baseboard Molding, Six Pieces

Baseboard is the last thing installed and the first thing noticed: too thin and the wall looks unfinished, too hollow and it dents the first time a vacuum hits it. This set of six solid bamboo boards closes that gap properly. Each piece is 37.8 in. long, 2.36 in. tall and 0.6 in. thick, with a flat back that sits tight to the wall so the seam between board and plaster disappears. Six pieces give you 18.9 ft. of run — enough for a bedroom plus a hallway.

  • 6 pieces × 37.8 in. = 18.9 ft. total coverage
  • 100% solid bamboo — no MDF core, no veneer
  • Prefinished — no painting, staining or sealing
  • Flat back sits flush against the wall

37.8 In. per Piece, 18.9 Ft. per Pack

Each board measures 37.8 in. (960 mm) long, 2.36 in. (60 mm) tall and 0.6 in. (15 mm) thick. Be clear about the height before you order: 2.36 in. is a low, modern profile, and the boards already on most American walls are 3.5 in. to 5.5 in. tall. If you are patching one wall in a room that already has baseboard, measure the existing board first. For a whole room or a new build, the lower line reads clean and contemporary. Allow a slight deviation of ±1/8 in. from manual measurement.

  • Length 37.8 in. / 960 mm per piece
  • Height 2.36 in. / 60 mm
  • Thickness 0.6 in. / 15 mm
  • 6 pieces · 18.9 ft. total

Four Features That Decide Which Baseboard You Buy

People replace baseboard for four reasons, and cheap boards fail all four: they are hollow, they arrive raw, the back is bowed so the board rocks against the wall, and the colour fights the floor. This one is solid bamboo through the section, prefinished before packing, milled with a flat back, and colour-matched to Jeedeson bamboo flooring. That is the whole list — no filler, no veneer, and no sanding dust through your hallway.

  • 100% solid natural bamboo — durable and eco-friendly
  • Smooth prefinished surface — ready to install
  • Flat back — sits flush against the wall
  • Colour-matched with Jeedeson bamboo flooring

Flat Back, Straight Edges, 2.36 In. Tall

The section is deliberately simple: a 2.36 in. (60 mm) face, 0.6 in. (15 mm) thick, with a flat back and square edges. A flat back is what separates a board that looks built-in from one that shows a shadow line along the wall, and straight edges are what let two pieces butt together at a doorway without a visible step. It also covers the expansion gap at the wall — the 3/8 in. of floor you are told to leave, which otherwise reads as a dark line under the plaster.

  • Height 2.36 in. (60 mm) · thickness 0.6 in. (15 mm)
  • Flat back — sits flush against the wall
  • Straight, clean edges for a tight seam
  • Covers the expansion gap between floor and wall

Solid Bamboo Core, Not Hollow or MDF

Pick one board up and you can feel the difference. Six pieces weigh 3.3 kg, roughly 550 g each, which is a solid section rather than a hollow shell with a paper skin. Bamboo is denser than the MDF and finger-jointed pine used in most builder-grade baseboard, so it takes a vacuum head, a chair leg and a mop bucket without denting or swelling at the cut ends. Turn one over and the strand pattern runs right through the thickness.

  • 100% natural bamboo
  • Solid bamboo core — not hollow, not MDF
  • Natural bamboo grain — each piece is unique
  • Dense and stable — resists dents and scratches

Sanded, Gauged and Square-Cut

Six boards are only useful if they match each other. Every piece in the pack is sanded to the same surface feel, gauged to the same 0.6 in. thickness and cut square at both ends, so a run stays level past a door and the joints line up without filler showing under a gloss finish. The grain is tight rather than open, which is why the face stays smooth instead of raising fibres the first time it is wiped down.

  • Smooth sanded surface — splinter-free
  • Uniform 0.6 in. thickness — consistent lines
  • Precision-cut ends — clean, straight edges
  • Tight bamboo grain — stable and long-lasting

Cut, Fix, Fill: Three Steps

Baseboard is a weekend job, not a contractor job. Measure and cut to length — a miter saw gives the cleanest ends, a fine-tooth hand saw is enough for one room. Fix it with construction adhesive, finishing nails, or both: adhesive alone holds on drywall, nails hold the line while the adhesive sets. Press it tight to the wall, then fill the joints and the nail holes, sand lightly and touch up. No special tools, and bamboo cuts and drills like hardwood.

  • Step 1: Measure and cut the baseboard to length
  • Step 2: Apply adhesive or fix with finishing nails along the wall base
  • Step 3: Press firmly and fill the joints
  • Works with bamboo, laminate, vinyl and tile flooring

Perfect for Living Rooms, Bedrooms, Hallways and Stairs

The stair stringer is where baseboard earns its keep. A stepped run up the side of a staircase hides the gap between the treads and the wall, and it is the detail that makes a stair look finished rather than tacked on. The same board runs along a living room wall, behind a bed, or down a hallway where door frames cut a long run into short pieces.

  • Living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and stairs
  • Covers the expansion gap between floor and wall
  • Continues around door frames and inside corners
  • Colour-blends with oak and honey-toned floors

The Last Two Inches That Finish a Room

A hallway is the honest test: bare plaster, a lot of floor, and a shadow line that shows every mistake. Run a straight board along the wall and the room reads finished — the eye stops at a clean line instead of the raw edge of the flooring. Because the board is prefinished and colour-matched, the skirting disappears into the floor instead of sitting on top of it as a separate element.

  • Hides the raw edge of the flooring
  • Prefinished — no painting, no masking tape
  • Colour-matched to Jeedeson bamboo flooring
  • Wipe clean with a damp cloth

Frequently Asked Questions

What height is this baseboard, and is it a standard US size?

Each board is 2.36 in. (60 mm) tall and 0.6 in. (15 mm) thick. That is a low, modern profile — standard American baseboard runs 3.5 in. to 5.5 in. It is the right height for a clean, contemporary line under a high ceiling, and it is also close to a tall base shoe. If you are matching board that is already on the wall, measure it before ordering.

What is the difference between baseboard and skirting board?

They are the same board. Baseboard or base molding is the American term; skirting board is what it is called in the UK, Ireland and Australia. Jeedeson lists it both ways so it is found on either search.

Should baseboard go on before or after the flooring?

After. The floor goes down first — including the expansion gap at the wall — and the baseboard covers that gap afterwards. That is also why the board should be fixed to the wall, not to the floor: a nailed-to-the-floor board pins the flooring and stops it moving with the seasons.

Do I need quarter round or base shoe with this?

Not with a flat-back board, no. Quarter round exists to hide a gap between baseboard and an uneven floor, or to cover a board that was nailed down before the floor went in. This board is installed after the floor and sits flat against the wall, so adding quarter round would only make the profile look heavier.

Can I paint bamboo baseboard?

Yes, with the usual prep. Scuff the prefinished surface lightly with 220-grit, wipe the dust off, then use a bonding primer before your topcoat — paint grips a prefinished board poorly without it. If you want the natural bamboo look, leave it as it arrives; the factory finish is already complete.

Will it match my existing bamboo floor?

The colour is matched to the Jeedeson bamboo flooring range, so it reads as part of the same floor rather than a separate strip. Natural bamboo can warm very slightly over the first few months in daylight, the same way a bamboo floor does, so board and floor stay in step with each other.
